The Commissioner has a few parting thoughts as she draws the curtain on the 2012-2013 season. First and foremost a huge THANK YOU to RexComus for not entering his White Gloved Wonders into the e-Division; giving those oh so deserving Rebels a chance to shine.
Congratulations to Uptown Crowns for taking the Chestnut Division in a photo finish with Lakeview Levees. Surely this will encourage further stalking from the Crowns owner and a run on drafting for all future debs named Helen courtesy of the Levees strange….yet obviously effective…..drafting strategy.
And once again, despite a continued reign as the premier division in the league, the Ladies of the Chestnut Division failed to produce the 2013 NOFDL World Champion. This honor falls to the LaSallian Division’s Robbotantes! (Granted…..when one is competing against such debutante drafting phenoms as Boa Babes…..the lowest scoring team in the league……perhaps it’s easy to take the title.)
Congratulations also go to Miss Nina Sloss, Queen of Carnival 2013 on being the highest scoring debutante of the season with 445 points. Strangely her inclusion on their teams was not enough to elevate either Lo or Northshore Sustainer to a win. (Miss Anne Kock, Queen Comus 2012 remains the highest scoring deb of all time with a score of 485 points for the 2011-2012 season.)
As always, The 2013 Coterie included a debutante who managed to appear in NOTHING. BUT, quite unexpectedly, NO ONE was fooled into drafting Miss Mycah Smith to a 2013 team! (Actually, The Commish is quite shocked that Miss Smith was not Biddy’s first round draft choice.) Nice job team owners….maybe you are FINALLY getting the hang of this game.
A special shout out to Miss Ella Bright, Queen of Carnival 2012. The Commissioner is saddened that your photo was not included in the TP Rex-Comus write-up. You looked stunning and The Commish will likely NEVER have a more fabulous or surreal moment than sharing a flask with you during the Meeting of the Courts.
Thanks to everyone who played, commented, e-mailed, visited the site, and of course….asked The Commish to dance this season. Can’t wait to “see” you all next year!!
